I suffered from TMJ pain for over five years. Eventually quarterly injections became useless and cost prohibitive. Dr. Wasson was highly recommended by my oral facial pain physician Dr. Farrel. I consulted with Dr. Wasson once and his approach was honest, fair, scientific and with my outcome top of his mind. The pain was too much and I decided to have bi-lateral removal of cartilage joint of upper and lower jaw. He also found both discs clenched to pieces and removed them injecting fat from my belly into my jaw joint. ( who knew ?) The surgery took four hours however i didn't feel a thing. Recovery for me was two weeks until i could fully open mouth and chew. Dr. Wasson and staff were helpful post -surgery with pain medicine and exercises to improve range of motion and speed recovery. Its January 3, 2024 and i can say I am without jaw pain for the first time in years. I still wear night guard to fight clenching but the pain is gone. I can chew crackers, pretzels without pain for first time in years. Lastly his surgical precision is perfect. One couldn't even tell i had surgery, as scars are barely noticeable. He is quite the artist and i'll be forever grateful. Jen and Linda in the office were very helpful with the process to compel Cigna to pay out of network benefits. Jen is an insurance expert. My husband is a dentist and I have many friends in the dental field and when I started having some issues with my jaw, everyone had an opinion on what they thought was best.
